Nature’s cleanup crew, put to work
Bio4FOGS products contain selected strains of beneficial Bacillus bacteria, the same kind of microbes that break down organic matter in nature. Adding them to a system is called bioaugmentation.
The science, simply
The bacteria produce enzymes that break fats, oils, grease and other organic waste into smaller, simpler compounds. The bacteria then digest those compounds as food.
Instead of pushing grease further down the line or covering odors with fragrance, the waste is actually broken down. Healthy beneficial bacteria also compete with the bacteria that produce bad odors and hydrogen sulfide.
Bacillus bacteria form tough spores, so the product stays stable in storage and becomes active once it reaches water and organic material.
Biological vs. chemical treatment
Biological: digests the waste, works continuously, natural and biodegradable, safe for plumbing and septic systems when used as directed.
Harsh chemicals: often only move or liquefy grease temporarily, can harm pipes and the biology your system depends on.
